A two- or three-night walk: one borough well, not five badly.

April–June and September–early November for walking weather. August is humid; January can be a bargain if you pack a real coat. Holiday weeks are priced like events.

Fly into LGA, JFK, or EWR, or take Amtrak into Moynihan Train Hall. Skip a rental car. Subway + feet is the city. From the Northeast Corridor the train often beats airport time.
