Hurricane-season travel notes
Atlantic hurricane season runs 1 June through 30 November. That covers Florida, the Gulf and Southeast coasts, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. It is a calendar, not a guarantee of a storm on your dates — and not a reason to invent a live cone on this page.
- Read the cancel and “named storm” clauses before you prepay a courtyard.
- Travel insurance is a product with exclusions; read them.
- Official watches and warnings: National Hurricane Center and local NWS offices.
- For a U.S. weather desk in this collection — once, not in the site chrome — see Weather4Site’s hurricane brief.
We do not display a fake live track. If a storm is in the news, NHC is the source, not a travel blog’s screenshot.
